Annotation | Rehabilitation is a relatively novel concept in dementia. This article explores the potential for rehabilitative approaches in dementia care. On the basis of a structured literature review that focused on the current state of research evidence for rehabilitation related to Alzheimer's Disease (AD) implications are discussed for future research in this area and the translational challenges in terms of making findings applicable to care organisation and delivery. The authors further set out to critically appraise the concept of `evidence' in the context of rehabilitation methodology. Translational challenges in the application of research evidence in clinical and social care practice are discussed. (JL). |
