Intergenerational relationship characteristics and grandchildren's perceptions of grandparent goal influence

AnnotationThis study examines grandparent influence on goal preferences of young adult grandchildren as a function of grandparent-grandchild relationship characteristics. The current sample consists of 404 grandchildren between the ages of 18 and 25. The results of multiple regression analyses indicate that the relationship model predicts overall grandparent goal influence. An analysis of the contribution of specific activities indicates that emotional closeness makes a significant positive contribution to the regression model. (KJ).
