AnnotationMuch of the Review is a collection of objective data (including Census data, surveys and research) about the chances, choices and outcomes in life and experience of different groups of people in terms of their age, gender, disability, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, and transgender status. The data relate to activities across different areas encompassing individuals' capabilities and freedoms in order to be happy, productive and fulfilled: life; security; health; education; employment; standard of living; care and support; and power and voice. Under each area, the Review examines a set of indicators, and presents "significant findings" and associated "headline data". Of particular interest in the (very large) main report are: Chapter 9 Health (pp 249-207); Chapter 13 Care and support (pp 523-573). The review highlights significant gaps in data and information that is reliable. In the process, two out of the 15 significant challenges identified are: closing the differences in health and life expectancy between the highest and the lowest socio-economic groups; and reducing the rise of the need for and cost of informal care, and to increase autonomy, choice and control for both carers and those who receive care.
