AnnotationThe Housing and Ageing Alliance believes that homes, communities and housing related services should be planned and designed in ways that enable choice, control, inclusion and independence in later life. Living independently in a home of their choosing is what most older people hope for as they grow older. In this brochure, the Housing and Ageing Alliance outlines the case for action by national and local government regarding "big issues" for "smarter spending": health; housing and planning; a Big Society; families and carers; and for the Coalition's programme for government. Opportunities to reduce the cost of health and social card for older people must be grasped. (RH)
