Annotation | Many patients with hearing loss find communication in healthcare settings difficult, and this might sometimes affect their care. This article outlines how staff can best communicate with people with hearing loss. It also provides advice and resources on how to meet the communication needs of deaf patients. An increased awareness on the part of healthcare staff of such needs will contribute to improving the quality of care provided to deaf patients. (RH). |
