The dying art [Social worker involvement with end-of-life care] | Author(s) | Sally Gillen |
Journal title | Professional Social Work, September 2010 |

Annotation | This article highlights a report's findings published in 2010, that social workers are not sufficiently engaged in working with people, especially older people, who are near the end of their life; and saw in fact, that end of life care was not their responsibility. This situation should be improved with further training, especially from existing sources, such as that from the hospice movement. The featured report is published by the National End of Life Care Programme, entitled "Supporting People to Live and Die Well" and can be found on their website to download.
