AnnotationIn 2008 the ONS launched the Integrated Household Survey (IHS). It is comprised of two sections: a suite of core IHS questions followed by individual survey modules. In 2008 the General Lifestyle Survey was one of these four modules; this is the new name for the former General Household Survey (GHS) and 2008 is its first publication. This report presents the latest results from the GLF for the 2008 calendar year as multi-purpose survey carried out by the ONS. As for the GHS, the GLF will continue to collect information on a range of topics from people living in private households in Great Britain. These are: Households, families and people; Housing and consumer durables; Marriage and cohabitation; General health and use of health services; Smoking and drinking; Occupational and personal pension schemes. In the Overview of the Survey, the differences in participation in employer pension schemes between men and women, and for those working part-time and full-time is briefly described. GLF results will be combined with those from other sources in Social Trends and other reports published in 2010. (KJ).
