AnnotationThis statistical report presents information on residential and nursing care placements funded by Councils with Adult Social Services Responsibilities (CASSRs). The information used within this publication is collected on the annual SR1 form as at 31 March. The figures on Supported Residents are for adults only. It is useful to consider the statistics in this report alongside statistics on day and domiciliary services provided to people based in the community (see section on related publications). This report also includes analysis of the Public Service Agreement (PSA) target which relates to older people being supported intensively in their own home as an alternative to residential care. This publication has been revised on 12th June 2009 due to an error found in the calculations used to estimate data. From 1997 onwards separate information has not been published for independent voluntary and private homes although the information is still collected and available on request. (KJ).
