Annotation | The SIGN guideline 'Management of patients with dementia' (Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network, 2006) points to the importance of recreational activities for in-patients with dementia, for promoting their quality of life and well-being. An occupational therapist describes setting up a seated dance group for older women with dementia and the challenges of trying to evaluate its benefits, by reference to the literature on dementia and dance and more widely on dementia and well-being.
