Annotation'Building a society for all ages' (Cm 7655; July 2009) set out the Government's strategy regarding the challenges and opportunities of an ageing population. 'A good place to grow older - a national commitment' forms part of 'Building a society for all ages - consultation response' (Cm 7800). It is a product of government departments, national agencies and organisations working together to encourage and support Local Strategic Partnerships to develop their areas as good places to grow older. Signatories to the National Commitment have made a number of pledges, including working together as an Ageing Society National Partnership. One of the eight pledges is to "recognise and share existing good practice o age proofing in policy making, strategic planning and service delivery". (RH).
