Annotation | The brief for this report (conducted c 1991 or 1992) was to investigate public provision of leisure for older people in the West End of Newcastle and to identify opportunities for improving its accessibility and take-up. The research was carried out by means of semi-structured interviews. There were 107 respondents (59% female, 90% aged 60+, and 75% living in council accommodation). The need to improve leisure for provision for older people with little disposable income is highlighted. (RH). |
