AnnotationEconomic disadvantage, social exclusion and institutional racism have all helped to perpetuate relatively poor housing for British Pakistanis; but better and safer conditions do exist in the face of these conditions. This research examined the effects of constraints and also the ways in which policymakers and British Pakistanis have attempted to overcome them. The study examined housing preferences and housing strategies of a sample of people of Pakistani heritage in three case study locations in Glasgow, Bradford and Luton. The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) has supported this project as part of its programme of research and innovative development projects. (RH).
