Annotation | As illustrated in the article by Ellen J Helsper in this issue of Working with Older People, there are a number of factors that dictate and influence an individual's capacity or willingness to use the internet. In Newcastle, an inspiring and award-winning initiative, the Quality of Life Partnership (QoLP), has had a significant effect on the way older people are engaged in the city. Surprisingly, one of the successful ways is using the internet. Barbara Douglas explains how they have achieved this, and Mary Nicholls describes her involvement in the initiative. (KJ/RH). |
