AnnotationMiddle aged and older women are rarely included in occupational health studies, and few workplace interventions have been planned to promote their well-being. This literature review for the Pennell Commission begins to fill these gaps through exploring the impact of employment on the health of older women in the UK. It describes their role in the workforce and reviews the available evidence on their well-being. It concludes with recommendations for changes in the delivery of occupational health services and health promotion strategies for older women workers. (RH).
