AnnotationThe Foundation conducted its second European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS) in 2007, which offers a wide-ranging view of the social realities in the the 27 European Union member states (EU27) as well as Norway and the candidate countries of Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYRM) and Turkey. This report looks at the relationship between living conditions, social exclusion and mental well-being. It draws on EQLS results to examine the factors that influence perceived social exclusion and the impact this has on mental well-being. Such factors include labour market access, income and lifestyle standards, and availability of social support. The findings offer an insight into how social exclusion and integration vary across Europe. (RH).
