AnnotationThe Working Better project is aimed at setting a new agenda to meet the changing needs of families, workers and employers in the 21st century. Its purpose is to find solutions that will increase choice, fairness and equality, and improve the outlook for the economy over the long term. This report focuses on reforms to parental leave and the extension of flexible working, and contains two major pieces of research on these topics. While most of the findings relate to children and families, the overall aim is to campaign for cultural and legislative change. Among next steps is to develop a programme that will find ways of opening up better working choices for older workers, disabled workers and carers. (RH).
