AnnotationTo mark its 50th anniversary in 1997, CPA commissioned a book on dementia care to show the current creativity in and positive approaches to care. CPA invited professor Mary Marshall, then Director of the Dementia Services Development Centre, University of Stirling to organise the project which brought fifty contributors with a wide range of expertise to provide a benchmark of current thinking and practice in dementia care. This briefing promotes the book which was published as a result - "State of the Art in Dementia Care", (1997). It also highlights the main points of a one-day conference held in 1997 and resultant publication "Dementia in Focus (1998). (KJ).
