AnnotationFollowing the Commission for Social Care Inspection's independent review 'Cutting the cake fairly: CSCI review of eligibility criteria for social care' (October 2008), the Department of Health (DH) has now consulted on draft revised guidance on social care eligibility. This document summarises comments from the 77 responses to the consultation on the revision of the Fair Access to Care Services (FACS) guidance; most were from charity or voluntary organisations and local government. While most respondents thought the revised guidance was an improvement on the previous guidance, concerns remained about lack of funding in the social care system. (RH).
