AnnotationThe immediate Past President of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) sets out what social care services must do to end age discrimination by 2012, in line with the Equality Bill (2009/10 Parliamentary session). He writes from his perspective as chair of the advisory group working in the South West with Ian Carruthers and Jan Ormondroyd on the Age Discrimination Review, which recommends implementing the ban on age discrimination by 2012. People working in both sectors (health and social care) are keen to see an end to age discrimination in their work on personalising services. (RH).
