Annotation | This report sets out significant data collated by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) in relation to allegations of abuse against adults for the year ended 31 March 2008. It identifies a continuing increase in the number of adult protection referrals, reflecting in part the greater awareness of adult protection issues by service users, their families, staff working with vulnerable adults and the wider community. A key finding of the report is that the majority of referrals concern those aged 65 and over, and that a significant proportion of these referrals were from care homes. (RH). |
