AnnotationThe Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), and the newly merged charity Age Concern and Help the Aged, have joined forces to investigate and develop an understanding of equality over the life course and to identify solutions to inequalities in later life. This report presents findings relating to socio-economic inequalities in older people's access to and use of services such as health care, social care, housing, community services, transport and technology. It draws in part on a literature review at the London School of Economics (LSE) compiled for Age Concern and Help the Aged. The Equality Bill 2009 sets out a duty on public authorities to address socio-economic inequalities, so that this report and the Just Ageing? programme is timely.
