AnnotationThis leaflet includes advice on topics aimed to help increase the security, and the perception of security of older people in their own home. The topics include: bogus callers, deterring casual thieves, and joining Neighbourhood Watch. However, it should be emphasised that older people are no more at risk of burglary than other people but the impact of a burglary, or just the fear that it might happen to them, can have a more significant impact. This pamphlet has been endorsed by Safe Partnership, the national charity that secures the homes of victims of crimes that have compromised the security of their homes. (KJ/RH).
