Annotation | Suicide in later life raises many questions that make the subject more complex than perhaps at any other age. Many topics are deserving of continued and future research in this area, for example, examination of age-related differences in symptom profiles of suicidal individuals; biological underpinnings of suicide in later life; and analysis of cultural scripts among ethnically and culturally diverse samples of older adults. The editor introduces the seven articles that comprise this issue Clinical Gerontologist which he hopes will stimulate further work in this area. Indeed, innovative intervention strategies should be further explored. (KJ/RH). |
