AnnotationSince 2005 SPARC (Strategic Promotion of Ageing Research Capacity) has encouraged scientists to become involved with the many issues faced by an ageing society and encountered by older people in their daily lives. SPARC has provided small funding awards to 34 pump-priming research projects on ageing across the areas of design, engineering and biology. This brochure was originally produced for the British Association Festival of Science 2008 to publicise these projects and their results, at the end of the SPARC programme. SPARC's publications can be downloaded from the website (http://www.sparc.ac.uk), which will be maintained to help disseminate the research findings of the projects undertaken. (KJ/RH).
