AnnotationThe Pensions Act 2008 enables energy suppliers and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to share data in order for suppliers to target social assistance schemes on those receiving Pension Credit. Age Concern and Help the Aged comment on the DWP's proposals for this Energy Costs Support Scheme: there needs to be full evaluation of such a scheme, and personal data must be protected. Energy rebate Scheme would be a more appropriate name. (RH).
