AnnotationThis submission sets out Age Concern and Help the Aged's proposals for the last Pre Budget report before the General Election. It makes the case for retaining existing programmes and entitlements as they affect older people, and opposes any spending cuts that directly affect older people's well-being. The submission covers state pensions and benefits; care and support; the NHS; employment; and financial services. While proposals for a National Care Service are welcomed, the Green Paper is seen as disappointing. (RH).
