| Annotation | The author was appointed in November 2008 as the Government's czar, the Voice of Older People. This is Dame Joan's first annual report based upon the responses she has experienced during the past year from letters, encounters, meetings and seminars attended. It details what has been done to raise the profile of these concerns and includes Government initiatives that support older people.
