Annotation | The Department of Health have a statutory requirement to produce this report (pursuant to Section 22 of the 1970 Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act). This report outlines a selection of the research and development activity relating to assistive technology (AT) funded by the government undertaken by FAST. However, FAST's database incorporates work funded from a wide range of sources. Categories of assistive technology covered include communication aids; aids for people with hearing, visual or learning impairments; housing; and mobility. The first report published in 2001 covers research undertaken during 1999-2000.
