Annotation | Carers play a central role in many healthcare users' lives. Although services are recognising that they must be valued and supported, there is much more to be done to ensure the well-being of this unpaid workforce. This article includes an example from the Partnerships for Older People (POPPs) programme in Devon; five general practitioner (GP) practices have piloted a project offering support to carers such as health checks and counselling services.
