Annotation | Using cognitive behavioural therapy and evidence-based therapies, the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme is filling a void in mental health provision for the 15% of the population who have depression or anxiety disorder. The IAPT began at two pilot sites in 2006, and this article looks at examples of provision to people of all ages. However, despite successes, its future funding after 2011 seems uncertain. (RH). |
