Annotation | Increasing importance is being given to patients' views of the humanity and effectiveness of their care. Two professors of health services research consider the challenge of using the experiences of patients to evaluate interventions and assess the quality of services. They conclude that while patient reporting is not a panacea, considering patients' views in a systematic and thoughtful manner is a step towards incorporating them into clinical practice. (RH). |
