Annotation | This round table report forms part of the New Statesman and Pfizer Policy Forum which aims to bring together leading opinion formers to explore a range of health issues relevant to policy makers and the electorate alike. Contributors to this round table discuss and comment on changes in how people seek information on health, mostly brought about by use of online sources, but much of questionable quality. Although patients know their rights, they need to be better informed and helped with information literacy skills in identifying what is reliable. The Department of Health is developing an Information Standard (http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Healthcare/PatientChoice/B... to support people in using health and social care information, and this is one of the sources considered in the discussion.
