Annotation | This is the first in a series of Local Government Association (LGA) papers on the future of social care and support. It sets out the LGA's initial thoughts and explores how a simplified, locally-based system of care and support could address a number of the challenges which make the current system unsustainable. It considers the complex range of public support for people with care needs and how simplifying this into a straightforward, personal approach would also bring improvements in quality and value for money at the local level.
