AnnotationThe number of births in the UK has increased each year since 2001. This article examines the demographic drivers underlying this rise, assessing the contribution of UK born and foreign born women. It brings together key information from across the UK to provide a coherent picture of childbearing trends among UK born and foreign born women since 2001. Geographical variations in the proportion of births to foreign born women are also explored at the local authority level. (KJ/RH).
