AnnotationCommunity geriatricians can make an enormous difference to older people's lives and post-hospital recovery. However, there are only 1,129 geriatric consultants in the UK, and this article considers this dearth. Community geriatricians should have an important coordinating role working with care homes and nursing homes, as well as in acute and community settings. (RH).
