AnnotationAge Concern and Help the Aged comment on Ofgem's consultation investigating the direct debit arrangements of energy companies. Many older people have been finding that energy companies have increased direct debits, even for customers with relatively large credits, and that increases have been greater than any price increases. There is agreement with Ofgem's analysis of lack of transparency and poor communication on the part of energy suppliers. (RH).
