AnnotationIn January 2009, the Department of Health (DH) launched a consultation on improving the quality and efficiency of care and support through improvements in the sharing and use of information. The Common Assessment Framework (CAF) will be built on lessons learned from implementing the Single Assessment Process (SAP) for older people and the Care Programme Approach (CPA) in mental health services. This summary of the response to the consultation by Age Concern and Help the Aged comments on the nature of the assessment proposed, and welcomes the focus on outcomes. It also comments on the CAF dataset and how this relates to the Fair Access to Care Services Assessment Framework (FACS). (RH).
