AnnotationThis strategy for the adult social care workforce in England outlines the workforce implications of Putting People First. It provides a high-level framework to support the transformation of the adult social care workforce. Six key themes are covered: leadership of employers in workforce planning; recruitment, retention and career pathways; workforce remodelling and commissioning; joint and integrated working between social, health care and other sectors; and regulation for quality services as well as public assurance. The strategy is the result of collaboration between the Department of Health (DH) and its key partners in the adult social care sector. This strategy was scheduled to be published in October 2008.
