Annotation | Arlene Astell and colleagues describe two projects using computers - CIRCA (Computer Interactive Reminiscence and Communication AID) and Living in the Moment - which brought the benefits of rewarding activity and positive social interaction to people with dementia and their caregivers. Their research was funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) as part of the Extending Quality of Life (EQUAL) research programme. Alzheimer Scotland and Dundee Social Work Department have been partners in both projects. |
