AnnotationHelp the Aged launched its Vocal Point initiative in August 2007, to enhance its knowledge of older people's issues and concerns, by finding out about the experiences of the "hard-to-reach" who have contacted the charity by letter, telephone, e-mail, or at its shops and clubs. This report presents a selection of personal testimonies on themes ranging across ageism, community and neighbourhood, housing, transport and mobility, consumer issues, education, finance, and health and social care. The evidence base is being used in campaigning work, which aims to combat poverty, reduce isolation, challenge neglect, defeat ageism, and prevent future deprivation. (RH).
