AnnotationThe General Household Survey presents statistical trends based on a sample of the population of Great Britain, being a continuous, multi-purpose survey covering topics such as household and family trends, personal finances, housing, employment, health, sport and leisure activities. It has been a continuous annual survey since 1971 but since the 2004 edition, only a printed customised version is available, as the GHS is freely available in electronic format from the ONS website. A useful summary of main topics included in the GHS questionnaires between 1971 to the current issue forms Appendix F. The presentation of this Survey has changed since 2004 when Palgrave Macmillan became its publishers (together with a change in the ISSN) and there appears to be less analysis of the datasets given. However there is a useful overview report at the beginning of the Survey. Contd. as: General LiFestyle Survey. (KJ).
