Annotation | This special edition of Quality in Ageing comprises seven expert papers drawn from a conference held in London in September 2008, which indicate depression, suicide and self-harm as major concerns for all of the authors. A number of key themes emerge, particularly that mental health in later life is "everybody's business": it is the concern of primary care services, specialist mental health services, care homes, health and social care professionals and staff, and the older people themselves.
