Annotation | The success of antiretroviral treatment means that HIV infected people live longer and must deal with age-related diseases. This review discusses the evidence that the major complications of "treated" HIV disease - including cardiovascular disease, malignancy, renal disease, liver disease, bone disease, and maybe neurological complications - occur at an earlier age in the HIV-infected population. Implications for clinical management are also discussed. (RH). |
