AnnotationTAEN's evidence comments that the Pathways to Work policy is less successful with the over 50s than with the under 50s, and that emphasis should be on keeping older workers in the job market. The importance of occupational health services is stressed, and various models of provision are suggested. The Finnish Work Ability concept takes into account those factors that influence capacity to do a job and to help individuals to remain in work by attending to their health and well-being as well as to skills and expectations. The value of adopting such an approach is highlighted, as is a gendered approach to health and work that helps both older men and women. (RH).
