Annotation | This is the second in a series of supplements to Community Care produced as part of a partnership with the Department of Health (DH) and the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE). The partnership is designed to help frontline practitioners turn policy into practice in adult social care, notably through the DH's Putting People First agenda to personalise care around the needs of the service user. The subject of this supplement is early intervention and prevention in older people's services. Three articles consider the prevention agenda with a focus on policy and well-being followed by a round table debate on early intervention and prevention. POPP and LinkAge Plus pilots are given as good examples of work already achieving results. A survey of social care professionals working with adults commissioned by Community Care specifically for this supplement reveals that 67% thought their local authorities had a prevention or early intervention strategy in place.
