Annotation"Changing lives, changing businesses" has been produced as one element of a partnership agreement between the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Tomorrow Project, designed to aid the transfer of academic knowledge to business and other academics. It covers the seven key life stages, how demographic trends in the UK are changing, and how the composition of the population will affect business life and the workforce in the next twenty years. It tackles seven key questions. First, will we produce enough babies? Second, how will we bring up our children? Third, will becoming an adult be more difficult? Fourth, how will adult relationships change? Fifth, will eternal youth replace the midlife crisis? Sixth, will retirement disappear? Lastly, will the oldest old have a better life? A final chapter highlights three common themes in the seven life stages: the role of guidance in dealing with the growing complexity of people's lives; the need for a new approach to savings so that individuals have financial support at critical stages in their lives; and managing an ageing society.
