AnnotationWhat is the nature of qualifying social work education regarding human growth and development and older people (HGDOP)? How effective is qualifying social work education about HGDOP, and what promotes or hinders successful outcomes? How far are critical perspectives - particularly social gerontology - evidence in qualifying social work education about HGDOP, and how effective are they? To answer these questions, this knowledge review examines the evidence from a literature search, which identified 24 relevant studies, five of which met inclusion criteria for in-depth review. This report describes the review methodology, including mapping the characteristics of HGDOP; presents an in-depth review of HGDOP outcomes; reports on the practice survey; and makes recommendations for future research and practice.
