Annotation | The third national survey of patients in accident and emergency, which the Picker Institute recently conducted for the Healthcare Commission, found significant improvements since 2004 (the last survey), especially in communication by staff. However, in the area of information and explanation, the over 75s may still receive inadequate help and advice, especially about their condition and what to do after discharge.
