Annotation | The phenomenon of "déjà vu" is widely recognized, yet its link to dementia in the older population has not been fully elucidated. Despite numerous studies into the fascinating psychological experience of déjà vu, its underlying mechanism is still not understood, with particularly limited data for older patients. This article describes three case studies in patients with known dementia. Pathological brain changes in dementia might lead to the development of déjà vu as well as suggesting the most suitable management strategies. (KJ/RH). |
