Annotation | Private care homes will become directly subject to the the Human Rights Act, under new provisions in the Health and Social Care Bill. The author questions whether this will make any difference in practice, when what is really needed is a "human rights ethos" as part of professional practice in care homes, such as in the Dignity in Care campaign.
